Personality
Before and during A Realm Reborn, Hioshent was a gentle and loyal soul yet when it comes to new people, he comes off as rather shy. In the face of a new experience, he becomes nervous.Through Heavensward and onward, he becomes more confident. He still has immense loyalty and friendliness that he carried before Heavensward.
Before the events of A Realm Reborn and before his change, his skin as well as his eyes were very similar to Haurchefant. His hair was slightly grayer. After graduating from the Thaumaturge Guild, he wore the traditional Black Mage robes without the hat.
After his change following the events of the Ultima Weapon, his appearance became more of a Duskwight appearance. Aside from his eye and most of his hair, he retains no other familiar features of Haurchefant. His left eye is now red and there is a scar going across the left side of his face and the right side of his forehead. When he was appointed Mage of Ishgard, he wears a new set of the Heaven's Ward robe and have a staff to go with it.
Hioshent is the maternal cousin of Haurchefant. However, unlike his cousin, he grew up in the Brume as Hioshent Myste. Before the events of A Realm Reborn, he left Ishgard to travel to Ul'dah so he could join the Thaumaturges' Guild. While he was away, his mother requested Lord Edmont to take him in even if it meant for him to work as a servant.He soon meets Thancred of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Seeing as how the Elezen showed potential both as a Thaumaturge and Arcanist, Thancred challenges the Guild to a contest where Hioshent would leave the Guild and join the Scions if he were to win. After doing so, he joins the Scions not long before the Warrior of Light. At that time, he spends time training under the tutelage of Urianger and Papalymo.He joins the Warrior of Light in Praetorium where he gets injured trying to shield the latter from the Ultima Weapon's explosion following its defeat. When they meet Haurchefant, the latter asks Hioshent to stay where they talked of Hioshent's ties to his family. After coming to a decision, Hioshent joins House Fortemps.In Heavensward, his skills as a Thaumaturge rival to that of Ser Charibert, causing him to consider the member of the Heavens Ward his equal. He claims Greystone as his surname in memory of Haurchefant following the Dragonsong War and works as a Mage of Ishgard under Aymeric.
